PREPARING FOR THE #TRUTHMACHINE
The following items and information can help lead to a productive Dynamometer session at #MundyTuned. Columbus, Ohio's precision tuning destination.
⛽ FUEL +
- Ensure you have ample fuel for your calibration session. This can require a significant amount of fuel.
- Ensure you are running the type of fuel that you plan on using after the dyno session. Many times a customer will have a higher or lower octane fuel in the tank when attempting a calibration. There is a risk that the engine could suffer damage from detonation if a different type of fuel is used after the calibration.
- #MundyTuned recommends TOP TIER brand gasoline. These brands have agreed to refrain from using additives that can lead to deposits in the engine resulting in damage.
🔧 FUEL SYSTEM +
- Make sure your fuel system is up to the task. This includes ensuring properly sized injectors WITH DATA are installed with the pump, lines, and voltage needed to support your horsepower goal.
- Take the time to properly set your base fuel pressure and don't forget to make sure the pump will handle the max pressure required. This is especially important on boosted applications.
⚙️ ENGINE +
- Performing a leak down and compression test prior to calibration is recommended. This gives you the chance to diagnose internal component problems before attempting to make full power pulls.
🔩 WHEELS & LUG NUTS +
- Please make sure your lug nuts and wheel studs are in working order including bringing the wheel lock key. Our Mainline Dyno requires the wheels to be removed from the car.
- #MundyTuned also recommends removing and reinstalling the lug nuts before bringing the car to the dyno. This ensures the lugs are not seized and no studs are broken.
🔥 SPARK PLUGS +
- #MundyTuned always recommends installing a fresh set of spark plugs and setting the recommended gap before bringing your car for a dyno session.
⚙️ CLUTCH / DRIVETRAIN +
- When performing power runs on the dyno your driveline will be subject to the full load of the engine. This means that a transmission problem or slipping clutch will result in the termination of the calibration session.
- If your clutch slips on the road, it will also slip on the dyno.
🛢️ ENGINE OIL & LUBRICANTS +
- The dyno and calibration process places your powertrain components under stress. It's recommended that you have fresh high-quality oil and lubricants prior to your session.
💧 FLUIDS, LEVELS & LEAKS +
- Take the time to ensure your fluid levels are proper before bringing the car for a calibration session.
- #MundyTuned recommends having an oil analysis completed before calibrating the car. If an oil analysis is not possible, cutting the oil filter and visually inspecting it for bearing material is a great backup.
- #MundyTuned will not complete calibration on a car that has leaking fluids.
- A $75 clean-up fee will be charged for fluid spills while on the dyno.

SESSION DURATION
Plan for a full day. Most calibration sessions take 4-8 hours depending on the complexity of your build and tuning goals.
SAFETY FIRST
Ensure your battery is properly secured. Remove loose items from the vehicle. #MundyTuned reserves the right to refuse service if the vehicle presents a safety concern.
WHAT TO BRING
Wheel lock key, any tuning hardware (handheld tuners, laptops with tuning software), and a list of your vehicle's current modifications.
